Training Review - Week 33 - August 10 to 17

Strange week as I tried to take a rest week. Went to swimming on Monday, but forgot my goggles. I have a handful of spare pairs in my swim kit but it turns out that I have become reliant on the clear glass and wide angle view afforded by my Zoggs Predators that I can't handle any of the smaller or darker sets. I did force myself through about half of the session. But I was having to twist my neck to see and was still suffering badly from the exhaustion that I had to quit early.

Through the rest of the week I did a few yoga and rollering and stretching sessions. Friday I was going to go for an easy run but on my way down the stairs from work I felt a twinge in my knee and decided it would be safer to stay off it.

Saturday I stuck to another rest day. But spent the whole day doing other things which meant I actually racked up 10,000 steps for the day anyway.

Sunday I went to ride with the Kintore group. I was struggling still and bailed on them at the 13 mile mark and rolled back on my own. Then a trip to see the Expendables 3. Best of the three of them, more comedy than action, and Antonio Banderas is hilarious.

For a rest week I have done ok to get out for some miles on the bike without doing anything too serious.

Wednesday - Rollering and stretching.

Thursday - Wii Yoga - 36 mins.

Friday - Yoga - 30 mins.

Saturday - Rest day

Sunday -  Bike 26 miles in 1hr 42mins
Expendables 3 - 6/10


Actual totals - Swim 0.7 miles (1,150m). Bike26 miles. Run 0 miles. 0 short core, 0 short light weights and 3 short stretching sessions. 36 mins of wii yoga.
